We have to pinch pennies, so should village
Please stop wasting money on unneeded bandannas throughout our village. These have to be installed by our village men (during) working hours, they have to be purchased at who knows how much money on a yearly budget - all of these are nice on a booming economy, but if us seniors have to hold our expenses, let our direct representatives in the village tighten their money belt even more.
I am positive our elected officials well know how many of their favorite expenses can be cut but do not. Please let your conscience and expertise stop what could be a future property tax that will be devastating to many.
However, if the latest survey taken shows that of 11 neighboring communities, Arlington Heights was the only municipality charging a 0.75% sales tax and others were 1%, this increase should be very logical.
Also, please check opportunities to help yourselves and us seniors, to facilitate better garbage pickup prices and options.
Everyone knows senior citizen couples have less garbage to be collected, of coarse, until the day we die, and then our younger generation takes over and THEY give it to charities, estate sales, garage sales or put the unwanted goods outside for THEIR garbage pickup.
