Missing Glen Ellyn girl found safe

A 15-year-old Glen Ellyn girl missing since early Sunday morning was picked up in Chicago after a routine traffic stop.

Glen Ellyn Deputy Chief Bill Holmer said Danielle "Ruby" James was a passenger in a car pulled over around 7 a.m. Monday.

Police called off the search for the missing teen soon thereafter. Holmer said Danielle apparently "willingly left Glen Ellyn." The relationship between the girl and others in the car was not immediately known.

She was taken to a Chicago hospital and released. Police planned to reunite her with her mother.

Holmer said the Chicago police officer asked for identification of all passengers in the car and Danielle's name came up in a missing person's report. Holmer said the girl had been missing since 1 a.m. Sunday.
