Forecasters issue alert over high winds
A wind advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service as gusts up to 50 MPH are expected to occur later this morning.
The advisory, which starts at 10 a.m., will have sustained winds of about 25 MPH to 35 MPH.
The advisory is in effect until 7 p.m., officials said. Temperatures are only expected to be in the low 70s for a high.
There were minor structural damages and some scattered power outages left over from storms that over the Chicago-area late Sunday night and early Monday morning.
Crews are out cleaning up debris left over from the system, which also produced a tornado warning over the area late Sunday.
Damage was recorded in Elgin, Bensenville and other DuPage area towns.
