Is our press still free?
And the loser is: civility or our unbiased free press? For eight years Bush was called every bad name you can think of, even a liar on two occasions on the Congress floor. When protesters burned American flags and laid down in the streets, where were the calls for civility?
When Liberals, Socialists, and Marxists burned effigies of President Bush, where were the calls for civility? The wars are still going on. Where are the protesters?
The real loser has been our free press and the truth. Today, if the news is not good for President Obama, it is not fit to print, period. We had 10,000 people show up in New Lenox to protest big government, and no one covered it. Why? In a small town, 10,000 people protesting our government is very big news. Hundreds of thousands of people turned out to protest Sept. 12 in Washington, D.C., and we were told by the news media it was only tens of thousands, not hundreds of thousands.
What happened to our free press? Why is it today when we Americans ask questions of our government we are called un-American, unruly mobs, uncivil, racist, and AstroTurf only because we disagree with President Obama.
Today we just get the runaround from our representatives, or they just hide from us. It is the job of the free press in America to report all the news, not the government spin. And the loser is: our unbiased free press and the truth.
