Antioch man charged with child sexual abuse

An Antioch man has been charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse involving an 8-year-old child, police said Friday.

Michael H. Moskowitz, 49, of the 1000 block of Osmond Avenue, was arrested Wednesday, Antioch Police Cmdr. Jim Ruth said.

Police and officials from the Department of Children and Family Services were called to the Moskowitz home Sept. 16 after receiving a report of child sexual abuse, police said.

The family has operated a licensed in-home day care center in Antioch since 2006, police said. The DCFS has suspended the Moskowitz's day care license. No children from the day care center were involved in this case, police said, but they are continuing to investigate.

DCFS removed both parents from the home and placed the family's six children with relatives.

Moskowitz is held on a $50,000 bond.
