Scouting: Warren @ Lake Forest

Warren (4-0, 1-0) at Lake Forest (1-3, 1-1)

When 7:30 p.m.

Last week Warren def. Mundelein, 34-6; Lake Forest lost to Stevenson, 31-21.

Outlook On paper, Lake Forest might be 1-3, but that's not the way Warren is preparing. Not with Notre Dame-bound quarterback Tom Rees waiting on the other end. Rees is the top passer in Lake County and rolled up 205 passing yards last week against a Stevenson team that controlled the ball and the clock. "Don't think for a moment this isn't a good team. Look at who Lake Forest has played (Palatine, Bradford, Wisc., Libertyville and Stevenson). They've had as tough a first four games as anyone," Warren coach Dave Mohapp said. "Plus, they've got Rees. He's a great arm, he's accurate, he gets rid of the ball quickly. Anyone who plays Lake Forest wants to keep him off the field."-Warren's best defense could be its offense, which like Stevenson, is very adept at controlling the clock with sustained drives. The Blue Devils got 204 rushing yards on 21 carries out of running back Greg Kennedy last week. Tom Lindal is also a dangerous runner and sophomore quarterback Pat Kenney is coming into his own. "We're doing OK, but there are still a lot of things we need to work on," Mohapp said. "This game is going to be a big challenge for us."
