Scouting: Prospect @ Buffalo Grove
MID-SUBURBAN EAST
Prospect (4-0) at Buffalo Grove (2-2)
When 7:30 p.m. today
Last week Prospect d. Barrington 39-37; Buffalo Grove d. Hoffman Estates 41-14
Outlook BG coach Jim Farrell isn't worried so much about slowing down high-flying Prospect QB Miles Osei (977 yards passing, 9 TDs; 439 rushing, 6 TDs) and WRs Peter Bonahoom (19 rec., 448 yards, 6 TDs) and John Coen. Farrell thinks the key is his own offense led by junior QB Mike Garrity (488 yards passing, 7 TDs; 284 rushing, 4 TDs), who had a breakout 5 TD passes last week, RB Kevin Mulligan (319 yards, 3 TDs), RB-WR John Angotti and WR Mike Cornely. "The pressure isn't on our defense, it's on our offense," Farrell said. "Our guys on defense are pumped up but we're not going to put any more pressure on them." Prospect is looking for its defense to get off the field after it gave up nearly 500 yards rushing last week and its offense has had the ball for only 22 of a possible 96 minutes the last two games. "We're not far away but it's getting kind of old to say that now," said Prospect coach Brent Pearlman. "BG is much-improved and they play well on both sides of the ball." Prospect, which has won four straight and 11 of 13 in a series it leads 13-10, will have LBs Joe Mack and Steve Dazzo after they missed some time last week.
