Last week Marian Catholic d. St. Joseph, 28-7; Carmel Catholic d. Benet, 46-7.

Outlook It's a first-place showdown in Mundelein tonight, as these two teams are tied with Joliet Catholic atop the ESCC standings. While Marian Catholic is undefeated, two of its wins are against winless opponents (Homewood-Flossmoor and Bloom), while last week's victim, St. Joseph, is just 1-3. Carmel is coming off its third straight win since an opening-night, overtime loss to Joliet Catholic. The Corsairs have their offense clicking, as they've scored 110 points in the last three weeks. While sophomore fullback Jordan Kos is emerging as a star, quarterback Brian Serio has also been highly effective for the run-first, option-oriented Corsairs.
