Thanks for supporting VFW

The Veterans of Foreign Wars will celebrate 110 years of tradition Tuesday, Sept. 29. VFW was established in 1899. Hampshire VFW Post 8043 received its charter July 25, 1946, and the Ladies Auxiliary received its charter June 20, 1948. We sponsor and participate in many community service programs, including scholarships for students at Hampshire and Burlington Central high schools, education programs in schools, Voice of Democracy and Patriot Pen essay contests and coloring contests, and the National Home for Children at Eaton Rapids, Mich. We also are involved with hospitalized veterans, the Buddy Poppy program, cancer aid and research and Honor Flight.

We appreciate the support of the community with our many programs. Please support our troops and God Bless America.
