4 accused in Cahokia vote fraud plead not guilty
BELLEVILLE -- Two trustees of the southwestern village of Cahokia and two other defendants accused of vote fraud say they're innocent.
The trustees, 44-year-old Kyle Johnson and 25-year-old Trevon Tompkin, entered not guilty pleas Wednesday in St. Clair County Circuit Court.
So did 27-year-old Cahokia street department worker William Brown and 44-year-old Kevin Wiggins, the husband of Cahokia Village Clerk Bernadette Wiggins.
The four were indicted last week on a combined 191 charges, including felonies alleging perjury and illegally observing voting.
