Explore how to live sustainably

Prairie Fest, a free community conference, will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Elgin to explore the many aspects of living sustainably. The daylong conversation focuses on energy, food, and water. The theme is "Ethical Choices for Sustainable Living."

This year Prairie Fest has a new format. It is more focused and participative. Each session features a number of expert panelists who will make short presentations followed by whole-group facilitated discussion. The mics will be live for presenters and the assembled community of members and friends. Bring your voice, and your concerns and comments.

Healthy lunch of locally grown ingredients is provided by In The Neighborhood Deli & Cafe of Elgin for $6. Baked treats will also be available for purchase.

Prairie Fest is again a free event sponsored by Unitarian Universalist Church of Elgin. They are not raising funds. Bring friends, family, work associates, and neighbors. It is one small thing you can do to help us all create a more sustainable community and world. For details, visit www.uucePF.com.
