How many examples do you need?

The next time someone asks for examples of government-run enterprises being better than private enterprise, cite these:

• U.S. Military. There was a time when there was no federal army but rather local militias. A free enterprise (non-Public Option) would give us Andy Frains with guns to defend America.

• Fire departments. There was a time when there were competing neighborhood fire departments. Now they are regulated by local government (Public Option). A similar argument can be made about Police departments as well.

FDA. Or should private enterprise be allowed to self-regulate like the peanut guys who knowingly sold salmonella last year?

• FBI. Public Schools. FAA. Medicare. Social Security. The Veterans Affairs.

Go down the list of any/all Federal/State regulated agencies and they exist because the public option is superior to the private enterprise option, which gives us insurance companies making our health care decisions.

Only in America can health care be a commodity traded on Wall Street.

Until they need to be bailed out by the public option TARP that is!
