Race not part of health care equation

Let me get this straight. Lake County Board member Mary Ross Cunningham believes that Lake County should adopt a position endorsing the Obama health care proposals that a majority of Americans do not want, just because she wants to support the administration in Washington? Isn't the board supposed to represent all the constituents in Lake County? I haven't seen a referendum or poll suggesting that a majority of residents support the health proposals (what ever they are). The other board members are correct, this is a national issue, not one for Lake County to take a position on behalf of the residents. Complaints are the result of dissatisfaction with government-run health care, not the fact that the current President happens to be black. Ms. Cunningham is the only one to introduce race into the equation.
