Lack of experience hurt reform debate
We elected a president with no leadership experience and we are now paying the price. From campaign trail to town meeting our president has been inconsistent with what he wants in a national health care plan.
The lowliest corporal in the Army soon learns that if you want to lead the privates you must be consistent. Going from meeting to meeting trying to sell draft legislation, of 1,000 pages (which is nowhere near completion) and three versions is unproductive and causes the chaos you see.
Today's explanation does not match yesterday's and surely won't match tomorrow's explanation. An experienced leader would have met with congress told them what basic elements he wants in a bill and without those elements he will not approve it. Then he and Congress could go from town meeting to town meeting and clearly define what will be the final legislation.
What we have is the Obama amateur hour trying to explain what will happen to your grandmother and your sick children and the president doesn't know what form the Senate and House will produce.
All he has done is add to the confusion and irritated far too many people. The next time you vote for a president leave your emotions behind; think which candidate has leadership experience and what are his qualifications and does he have a consistent realistic message.
