When 6:30 p.m. today at Roland Goins Stadium

Last week Palatine d. Buffalo Grove 28-24; Hersey lost to Schaumburg 30-14

Outlook Palatine came back last week to continue its best start since 1997 as Cody Bobbit threw 3 TDs and ran for another. But the Pirates did suffer a tough loss when two-year starting G Sash Patel suffered a season-ending ACL tear - Connor Gannon, Mike Joyce and Adam Kramer will fill in. "We need to improve this week, especially our run defense," said Palatine coach Tyler Donnelly. "Hersey plays very hard and will be another big challenge for us." Hersey started getting untracked offensively last week as Alex Vaile rushed for 103 yards and a TD behind Kevin Thomson and Danny Gregg and QB Brandon Klein continued to improve. "We are looking for more consistency on both sides of the ball but we believe we aren't far from a breakout game," said Hersey coach Mark Gunther. Hersey leads the series 18-16 but Palatine's 56-14 win last year was its eighth in 10 tries.
