Scouting: Mundelein @ Warren
Mundelein (0-3, 0-1) at Warren (3-0, 0-0)
When 7 p.m.
Last week Mundelein lost to Stevenson, 42-0; Warren def. Antioch, 40-24.
Outlook The schedule doesn't get any easier for Mundelein, which is playing the only two undefeated teams in the North Suburban Lake Division in back-to-back weeks. Last week, the Mustangs were shut out by 3-0 Stevenson. This week, they're charged with the task of stopping a Warren team that has scored 75 points in its last two games. "Warren is always a really good football team," Mundelein coach Bob Stone said. "But this year, they're really, really good. They are so effective running the ball."-Warren's rushing attack starts with the dynamic duo of Greg Kennedy and Tom Lindal, who combined to rush for 335 yards and 5 touchdowns in last week's victory over Antioch. Kennedy (174 yards) had 3 of the 5 touchdowns and also scored on an 89-yard kickoff return. "What we'd like to do is be really aggressive with their running game and try to force them to pass," Stone said of Warren. "They're not a bad passing team at all, but what they really like to do is run it right at you."-Stone is hoping that safety Mike O'Donoghue, who is leading the Mustangs in tackles, can get the defense ready for the challenge-Meanwhile, Mundelein's offense would like to pull a Warren and run the ball all over the field. But the Mutangs' offensive line, considered a strength heading into the season, has played inconsistently so far.
