Last week Jacobs lost to Prairie Ridge, 27-10; Grayslake Central lost to Crystal Lake South, 35-0
Outlook After getting shut out last week, Grayslake Central is looking for more production offensively. In its two losses this season, Grayslake Central has scored a total of just 7 points. In its win, that number jumped to 27 points. "Defensively, we're playing pretty well," Grayslake Central coach Nick Goshe said. "Offensively, we need to catch up."-Scoring points hasn't been much of a problem for Jacobs, which is averaging nearly 20 points a game even with 2 losses on the books. "Jacobs is a really good team," Goshe said. "They run the ball well and they spread it out offensively with their triple option. They've got a lot of kids they can attack with but (Zach Bates) is especially tough. When he gets into the open field, he can make things happen." Bates hauled in a 38-yard touchdown pass last week against Prairie Ridge-The Rams had their chances to get into the end zone last week as well, but the execution wasn't quite there. "We dropped a touchdown pass, we missed a field goal. The stuff that we're trying to run is there, we just need to get that final push to get the score." The Rams were down only 6-0 in the waning moments of the first half against a tough Crystal Lake South team, thanks to a strong effort from their defense. Goshe said Jim Sinclair, Nick Mandich, Lee Brown and Kevin Hein all had big games.
