Foundation targets financial literacy

Alliant Credit Union Foundation, established through a $4 million grant from the credit union, launched operations last month.

Brenda Murphy, president of the board for Des Plaines School District 62, spoke highly of Alliant's commitment to Des Plaines schools and students through its support of the Operation HOPE financial literacy teaching program.

She said at a recent press conference she attended one of the classes and was impressed with the dedication of the employee volunteer teachers and with the interest on the part of the students.
