Kids' essay contest fundraiser for Race for the Cure efforts

Comcast will host its second annual local kids essay contest for Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure. There will be iPod prizes for three lucky winners.

The essay, which must be 500 to 750 words, is open to any citizen and/or resident of the US (and its territories and possessions) who, as of March 15, 2009, is enrolled as a student in fifth to eighth grade in public, private and home schools. All other entries will be disqualified.

Eligible students must answer the question, what living a healthy lifestyle means to you?

The deadline is midnight Wednesday, Sept. 16. Essays can be e-mailed to communications_gcr@cable.comcast.com or mail a copy to Comcast Kids for the Cure Essay Contest c/o Comcast, 1500 McConoor Parkway, Schaumburg, IL 60173.

Contest winners will be announced later in the month and will be invited to receive their award onstage at the Race for the Cure on Saturday, Sept. 26, in Grant Park.

The first- to third-place winners will be awarded with an iPod touch, iPod nano, and iPod Shuffle, respectively.
