Harvest 3K Run, Family Walk just the start of festivities
On Saturday, Sept. 19, the second annual Harvest 3K Run and Family Walk will take place in Hampshire. The run goes through suburban Hampshire's White Oak subdivision. The race is sponsored by the St. Charles Borromeo School's Running Club. The racecourse is perfect for all runners, walkers and their families. Strollers are allowed in the walk so everyone can participate.
There will be medals awarded to the top finishers. And every participant has a chance to win raffle prizes. To join in the run or walk, pick up your registration forms at one of these Hampshire area businesses, Snap Fitness, Rosati's, Ella Johnson Memorial Library, Marathon, Iron Wok, BP Hampshire or St. Charles Borromeo school.
The race begins at 8:10 a.m. and the walk begins at 8:15 a.m. at the St. Charles Borromeo School, Jefferson Avenue and Warner Street.
Save some of your energy as St. Charles Borromeo School will hold a fun fair from 2 to 5 p.m. with children's games, prizes, mini hair and nail salon and pumpkin painting. At 6 p.m. enjoy a grilled pork chop sandwich and live music. For more information, call the school office at (847) 683-3450.
