DuPage County briefs
Naperville studies road
Naperville's Transportation Advisory Board will consider two proposed alignments to improve North Aurora Road from Frontenac Road to Weston Ridge Drive when it meets at 8 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, in the municipal center at 400 S. Eagle St. Roughly 22,000 vehicles use North Aurora Road each day and it serves as a primary connection between Naperville and Aurora. The area between Frontenac Drive and Weston Ridge Drive is the only portion of the road with a single lane in each direction, creating a bottleneck.

Webster St., Naperville. More than 3,000 visitors are expected when the most sinister characters of the 19th century come to life. Find out what character parts are available for those 16 and older at one of two informational meetings: 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Sept. 13 or 3:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 16 at Naper Settlement's Meeting House, Porter Avenue and Webster Street.
