Coming up in Atlanta: Arts festival and food event

ATLANTA -- An arts festival and a food and wine event are coming up in Atlanta this fall.

The Arts Festival takes place Sept. 12-13 in Piedmont Park, featuring 200 local and national jury-selected artists from around the country. Their work in jewelry, painting, photography, ceramics and sculpture, leather and metal, glassblowing and more will be exhibited in an artists' market that's free to visit.

The event also offers live music, food, and crafts for kids using repurposed materials. Details at http://www.AtlantaArtsFestival.com.

Later in the fall, Oct. 10-11, the city hosts the annual Taste of Atlanta at Technology Square (Spring and Fifth streets). More than 70 local eateries will serve up small plates of their best dishes. Celebrity appearances will include Carla Hall of "Top Chef."

The event will include cooking demonstrations, a farm-to-festival experience, kids' workshops, live music and wine seminars.
