Foster keeps rabble at a distance

It has become plain to me in the short time that my representative in Congress, Bill Foster, is an elitist. A "Scientist and a Businessman" means "I'm smarter than you and I know more."

His dealings with the citizenry are the same as royalty dealing with the rabble. "Roundtable" discussions are merely Foster holding court, where the people at the table are the dukes and knights selected by him, and the rabble are kept below the dais.

When Foster or his staff holds meetings with his constituents it's always one on one, supposedly to give the individual a chance to be heard, but its true intent is to limit the rabble's ability to know what he repeats to every other citizen so as not to suffer the indignity of sullying his intellect by defending his positions against the uninformed and ignorant masses.

One need only look the recent "Neighborhood Office Hours" events in Geneva and Elgin.

The event at Geneva turned into a public forum because the people stormed the Bastille and refused to be controlled. The event in Elgin was originally located in the public library, from 4 to 6 p.m. The day before the event, it was relocated to the mayor's conference room, a 6-person capacity, and rescheduled from 4 to 5 p.m.

It doesn't take a scientist to figure out that they didn't want a repeat of what happened in Geneva. They made sure the room was small and protected from being "stormed" by the rabble, and made sure the event ended before most of the peasants left the fields in which they toil.
