Bible believers won't accept gay culture
Each of the several rebuttals to Sue A. Smith's letter which objected to a gay marriage announcement in the paper cited that culture is now accepting of homosexuality, but one writer in particular, Kathryn Marzano, went so far as to say, "I believe that one day all religions will accept this."
It's with this specific assertion that Bible-believing Christianity is at odds. Hebrews 6:1 says, "Surely we don't need to start again with the fundamental importance of repenting from evil deeds and placing our faith in God."
Repentance is turning away from our sin. The Bible charges that we all have sinned in one way or another, but in Leviticus 18:22, 20:13, 1 Corinthians 6:9, and 1-Timothy 1:10 the practice of homosexuality is discussed more specifically; please note it's never considered an accepted practice (committed relationships are simply irrelevant).
Romans 3:23 says, "For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God's glorious standard. Yet God, with undeserved kindness, declares that we are righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood."
Sin requires a penalty, to avoid it requires a perfect sacrifice, to acquire the benefit requires a guilty plea. That culture is accepting of homosexuality is nothing new - Sodom and Gomorrah did too.
Cultural rebellion is precisely the issue the Bible has and is always dealing with, and Satan is frequently seen as culture's ally in this.
