Medline acquires SunChoice

MUNDELEIN - Medline Industries, Inc., the largest privately held manufacturer and distributor of medical supplies nationwide, said Friday it has signed an agreement to acquire the business and assets of health care distributor SunChoice Europe Limited from the Southern Cross Healthcare Group. SunChoice, of Warrington, England, supplies incontinence, cleaning, janitorial, laundry, infection control, medical consumables, uniforms and patient handling equipment to over 900 nursing homes in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. About 46 employees will be joining Medline and the SunChoice name will be retired. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
