Don't assume GOP is against the poor

Some seem to assume that all Republicans are against the poor, and are expressing contempt for the party in power by speaking up for specific hopes and ideals which they personally hold for America. Many assume that Republicans are wrongfully "against" any and all plans now on the table.

Yet, so far, most plans seem not to truly help anyone, particularly the underprivileged. We should acknowledge that the neglected segment of our society embraces both Democrats and Republicans and hopefully, we all wish to see workable solutions, not untested "ideas" that will only serve to make us poorer.

We must recognize that participation by both sides of the aisle is necessary to clear our minds and help us recognize truth versus wishful thinking, to consider both sides of an issue and not relegate some just to sit back as spectators. Let's endeavor not to accept or reject without serious reflection and in our actions, reflect a true democracy.
