Recently released convict accused of assault
A Chicago man released from prison two months ago after serving nearly 30 years for rape and armed robbery has been charged in connection with sexual attacks on the city's North Side.
Julius Anderson was released from Big Muddy Correctional Center on June 25, The 59-year-old was arrested Wednesday after police traced a signal from a cell phone stolen from a victim.
Chicago police said Thursday that Anderson has been charged with aggravated criminal sexual assault, kidnapping, home invasion, burglary and robbery in connection with a Tuesday assault.
Police said the attack was on a 28-year-old woman who was walking to her boyfriend's home from a subway station. She was forced into the residence and sexually assaulted.
Authorities have also charged Anderson in connection with an Aug. 15 attack.
