Celebrations XI to benefit Children's Memorial Hospital

Three professionally decorated private estates and a historic landmark Queen Anne style residence are featured in Celebrations XI - a Sept. 18 housewalk sponsored by Children's Memorial Hospital's Northwest Suburban Guild. All locations are in the Barrington, Inverness, Palatine area.

Also on the tour is Honquest Furniture for Living's Althorp House, a Theodore Alexander collection of antique reproduction furnishings based on those in the 500-year-old ancestral home of the late Diana, Princess of Wales. Honquest Furniture for Living, 1455 S. Barrington Road, is the housewalk starting point. Viewing hours are 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m.

Honquest also hosts the housewalk's wide range of boutiques featuring jewelry, accessories, hand-painted items and floral arrangements. Boutique hours are 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m.

A complimentary luncheon exclusively for advance ticket purchasers will be served at Honquest as well.

"We have worked with the Northwest Suburban Guild since 1997, and enjoy and value this relationship," said Rachel Honquest, who with her husband, Richard, has operated the Barrington furniture business since moving to the community in 1975, from its previous Addison location. "And we are proud of our part in helping this most worthy cause."

Tickets are $50 a person and can be purchased by Sept. 4 online at events.org/nwsg. They may be claimed at the boutique's Northwest Suburban Guild reservation table at Honquest the day of the event. Additional tickets will be available then as well.

Tickets can also be reserved by contacting Karen Kallman, (847) 397-8955 or karenkallman@aol.com.

Proceeds benefit the Family Services Department of Children's Memorial Hospital.

The Northwest Suburban Guild is an affiliated organization of Children's Memorial Hospital. It was founded in 1976 by a committed group of women dedicated to volunteer work, fundraising and increasing awareness of Children's Memorial. The Guild assists the hospital in its mission of patient care, education and research by supporting its Family Services department.
