Illini RB Dufrene questionable for opener
CHAMPAIGN -- Illinois football coach Ron Zook says Daniel Dufrene is questionable for Saturday's season-opener against Missouri with an ankle injury.
Dufrene didn't practice Monday after hurting his ankle last week.
Zook says team officials are building a special brace for the ankle, but he wasn't sure if that will allow Dufrene to play.
The senior running back was the team's second-leading rusher last season with 663 yards. Only quarterback Juice Williams had more.
Illinois and Missouri play at 2:40 p.m. Saturday in St. Louis. The game is being broadcast on ESPN.
