Wolves center Anderson returns for another season
The Chicago Wolves have signed center Matt Anderson, a 26-year-old who collected 13 goals and 31 points in 66 games for the club last season.
Anderson also was 19th in the American Hockey League with a +20 plus/minus rating.
Overall, the West Islip, N.Y., native has racked up 14 goals, 19 assists and 33 points in 80 career contests with Chicago, spanning three seasons (2006-09). He also skated in 24 Calder Cup playoff games for the Wolves, recording 2 goals and 4points, and was a member of the 2008 Calder Cup championship team.
Prior to turning pro, Anderson registered 57 assists and 90 points in 126 career outings with the University of Massachusetts-Amherst (Hockey East), spanning four seasons (2002-03 and 2004-07).
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The Wolves will open their 16th season at the Allstate Arena on at 7 p.m. Oct. 3.
