Play, review left bad taste

Wow, I read your review in the Daily Herald, and I could not disagree more. I thought "Light in the Piazza" was awful.

You are probably thinking I am some old jerk who is not happy unless the Marriott is doing "Oklahoma" or "The Sound of Music" for the 50th time. That is not true - except for the old jerk part - which is true. I have enjoyed the newer productions like "Joseph," "The Full Monty," "The Bowery Boys," etc. But I thought this production was awful. The plot was dull, if not embarrassing - let's dump our mildly retarded daughter off on an unsuspecting Italian family - and the music was completely forgettable. I have no problems with the cast, by the way. I thought they did a terrific job with an awful script.

Again, I am not saying you are wrong and I am right - just that we differ completely. That's why we have vanilla and chocolate, I guess.
