Schadenfreude was unbecoming

On reading the Opinion Page Aug. 22, I had my first occurrence of "ouch." I love the human angle, common sense and informative attitude of this editorial commentary on Saturdays.

Well, if there is any frustration I would vote to eliminate it is the construction delays, detours and hostility. However, I totally disagree with the judgmental comment about the occasional driver who chooses to straddle the line to control the hot rodders or short tempered drivers who demand that the rest of us just let them have their entitlement to get ahead of everyone else.

I am sorry that someone chose to take the entitlement a step further by sideswiping the car you saw straddle the lanes, and that some of you felt that was justifiable.

I think frustration ruled the "Please Don't Do This" comment, not the fair play mentality for which we are groomed from a very young age to follow. These are very difficult and frustrating times, and driving in construction zones doesn't help.

Please have compassion that fellow drivers are just as miserable as you are and please take your turn or "take another route."
