No fall farmers market for Wheeling, after all

Wheeling trustees had been hoping to use the former Wickes Furniture site, 351 W. Dundee Road, to host a fall farmers market.

But Peter Vadopalas, director of economic development, said this week he was able to book only three vendors, which isn't enough to host a market every Friday.

"We contacted 40 but were only able to get commitments from three," he said. "I think it's just too late in the season. We should just concentrate on 2010."

Wheeling trustees agreed.
