Missing Carpentersville man found dead in Michigan

A Carpentersville man missing since mid-June was found dead Saturday in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

Maciej "Matt" Karwacki, 29, was found hanged in a tree in a wooded area in Ontonagon Township, about 30 minutes from the Wisconsin border, according to information provided to Carpentersville police.

Authorities believe it was a suicide.

A man riding an all-terrain vehicle reported a vehicle parked on a trail, authorities said. A subsequent check determined the white Mazda 626 was registered to Karwacki, who was reported missing June 12 after he failed to turn up to work as a FedEx driver.
