N. Aurora pair face drug charges
Two North Aurora residents face felony drug charges after police seized more than a pound of marijuana and two dozen ecstasy pills from their home, authorities said Monday.
Virginia L. Hanson, 26, and Liam N. Marsden, 29, were arrested Aug. 18 after a search warrant was executed at their residence on the 200 block of North River Street, according to the North Central Narcotics Task Force.
Master Sgt. Bill Backus said investigators recovered nearly 660 grams of marijuana with a street value of more than $2,000, along with 24 ecstasy pills valued around $600.
Hanson and Marsden each were charged with marijuana possession and possession with intent to deliver. Marsden also was charged with ecstasy possession, possession with the intent to deliver and misdemeanor cannabis production.
"We seized one (cannabis) plant," Backus said. "But there was evidence he had been doing it for longer than just one plant."
Hanson and Marsden remained in the Kane County jail Monday with bond set at $250,000 and $500,000, respectively. Neither has a prior criminal history in Kane County, according to court records.
The pair are scheduled to appear in court Sept. 2 in front of Kane County Judge T. Jordan Gallagher.
