Lombard firefighters snuff fire at firehouse
Lombard firefighters didn't have far to go to extinguish a small fire Sunday morning - it was in their own station.
Battalion Chief Chuck Ralis said the fire was discovered about 11 a.m. in a first-floor office and firefighters were able to put it out it with a single fire extinguisher.
The fire damaged two computers, a desk and some office equipment, authorities said.
Officials said they estimate the damage at between $10,000 and $15,000.
There were no injuries and the cause of the fire - including an examination of the electrical equipment - is still under investigation.
