Peavy hit by liner in rehab start, stays in
LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Chicago White Sox pitcher Jake Peavy was hit on his right elbow today near the end of a minor league rehab start in Lawrenceville, Georgia, but was able to stay in the game.
The right-hander will travel to join the White Sox tomorrow in Boston, but no decision has been made yet as to when he will next pitch.
Peavy took a liner off his elbow in the fifth inning of his third rehab start, and only needed one more pitch -- a 90 mph fastball -- to end his scoreless outing for Charlotte of the International League.
