Thanks, Elgin for restoring senior rebate

Thank you, Mayor Schock and Elgin City Council members, for restoring our Senior Citizen $200 Tax Rebate. It shows sound judgment on your part.

We can appreciate that you want to help the downtown businesses, but Elgin's senior citizens are equally important.

Thank you, Elgin seniors, for letting your voices and opinions be heard. I appreciate Councilman Bob Gilliam's comment about the seniors' feedback being negative about the vouchers when he said, "The issue was like touching the third rail." Sounds like Councilman Gilliam remembers Old Elgin when we left our doors unlocked and the keys in the car.

Thank you, Harry Hitzeman for reporting this very important issue.

Mr. Mayor, Councilmen, we are watching what happens in the Elgin City Council Meetings. We all care.
