Obama has reason to rush health plan
It has been weeks and weeks that the Obama health are plan has been debated. As an attorney who deals with facts and also legislation, it is apparent to me that adopting the Obama Plan would be a huge mistake.
It would create a system of socialized medicine, which would write off the elderly as too expensive to heal. It would permit doctors to ignore the Hippocratic oath, which is exactly what Dr. Emanuel professes when stating some patients are too expensive to care for. It would allow government to determine, although they have proven a failure in analyzing the benefits of most programs, what doctors are acceptable to them or not.
It is essentially a program that allows the federal government to tell you what care you may have, irrespective of what you need.
He has essentially written off the Baby Boomers, who are by his terms too expensive to maintain. God forbid if you are Baby Boomer and have a fall and need a hip replacement. That would be just too expensive for the taxpayers to absorb. If you are a child with serious medical conditions are you worth spending the money on for the rest of your life to preserve your existence? In the terms of the Obama Health Plan, you are not.
In conclusion, there is no need to rush health care to a legislative decision. The only reason Obama pursues this on a rushed basis is simply to prohibit legislators and the public from legitimate debate about the proposal. Most of the legislators have not had the time to read the over 1,000-page bill.
Years ago I attended a seminar where a legislative representative was speaking. It was interesting to note when he indicated that most of the legislation passed in Illinois was unread by legislators who voted in favor of the legislation. The basis of their approval was "If you support my legislation, I'll support your legislation."
I think you would agree that it is not the way legislation should be adopted.
As I have indicated in prior letters, there should be a law that requires all legislators to pass a test on the legislation to be voted upon. This test should be created by an independent testing bureau. If answers to the test are leaked to the legislator, the leader should be prosecuted under felony offenses, and imprisoned for not less than 25 years.
We need representatives that understand the laws they are passing. Obama is nothing but a creature of the corrupt Illinois governmental environment, as are his closest advisers. Ask yourself this, if Obama cares so much about people, why has he not done anything for his blood brother in Kenya? He could have at least taken him out of the tin hut and allowed him to live in the mansion in Chicago while Obama is living in the White House.
