Let's just get rid of right turns on red

Why must we always make a mountain out of a mole hill? It seems like in today's world, everyone including the different cities with these red-light cameras, are trying to get as much money as they can from us. With this whole right turn on red-light camera issue, why not just go back in time and put back the law that cost us nothing, no right turn on red? Seems simple to me and it would cost nothing.
