Delaying cancer treatment suicidal

The July 20 article in the Daily Herald Health and Fitness section should be a wake up call to all Americans about the lunacy of government controlled health-care.

The article, an Associated Press story, said researchers without naming the study group using data from five countries with Socialized Medicine found that about one-third of breast cancer, and about the same prostate cancer patients, were found to be non-aggressive type and could allow those people to live normal lives. What it also said was, it was impossible to tell without an invasive procedure to diagnose. This is a pure and simple a setup. All five of these counties in particular are struggling under the weight of their socialized programs and are looking for ways to defer and eliminate any procedure they feel can save money.

They will try to use this study as proof that breast and prostate medical checks and diagnostic procedures are unnecessary. They will put two-thirds of the people at higher risk to save costs on the one third.

The government run health care in these countries didn't start that way but that is how it evolved and, believe me, that is how a program of this type will end up in America as well, it is unavoidable.

This is a slippery slope America.
