Glen Ellyn mourns former village manager

Gary Webster, who served Glen Ellyn for nearly 22 years as village manager before retiring in 2006, died Aug. 14 in Tucson, Ariz.

Webster, 64, spent nearly four decades in municipal administration. He was named Glen Ellyn village manager in 1984 and remained in that post for 22 years.

In his private life, he was an enthusiastic traveler with a love for the outdoors.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Karen Webster, and their son, Adam.
