Bust gets Rolling Meadows mom charged with child endangerment

A Rolling Meadows mother of three was hit with felony drug charges and misdemeanor child endangerment after being arrested in her home.

Alejandra Zendejas, 37, was charged in the Rolling Meadows bond court Saturday with possession with an intent to deliver controlled substances and unlawful delivery of controlled substances, as well as child endangerment.

According to Assistant State's Attorney Lesley Gool, police informants bought packages of cocaine from Zendejas four times over the last 10 weeks. A search warrant was executed on her home on the 2000 block of Algonquin Parkway on Friday and police reported finding 12.3 grams of cocaine and more than $1,500 in cash, including bills registered for use by the informants.

The presence of her three children in the home, including a 4-month-old baby, led to the misdemeanor child-endangerment charges.

Zendejas was held on a $10,000 bond and given a Sept. 10 court date. The children were in the custody of relatives.
