Pool attendance off in Gurnee:

Gurnee Park District's aquatic center's revenue is now projected to bring in nearly $90,000 less revenue than budgeted for this summer. Officials blame poor weather for the shortfall. A report prepared for a meeting this month stated Hunt Club Park Aquatic Center should take in about $616,550, short of the $702,778 that was expected. As of Aug. 10, officials said, there were 14 days the pool didn't open because of bad weather. That compares to four days when inclement weather kept the pool from opening last year.

Antioch man faces felony charges:

If convicted, Roth could face a six-year prison sentence and a $10,000 fine. He has an Aug. 25 court date.

Take a cut out of Crohn's disease in Libertyville:

Get a haircut and contribute to research of Crohn's and Colitis simultaneously on Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Fred's Barber Shoppe, 118 Greentree Parkway, which hosts the fundraiser. Haircuts cost $18, and the proceeds benefit Take Steps for Crohn's and Colitis, the Illinois chapter of the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America. According to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America's Web site, the two diseases cause inflammation in the digestive tract and fall under a larger group of illnesses called inflammatory bowel disease.
