Police suspect theft ring was preying on guitar stores

Charges are pending against three suspects in a credit-card fraud ring following arrests Thursday in Arlington Heights, police said.

Arlington Heights officers arrested the suspects this afternoon at Guitar Center, 2375 S. Arlington Heights Road.

One of the suspects was arrested as he left the store. Two others were arrested in the parking lot.

The suspects remained in custody late Thursday night. The investigation was expected to continue overnight and today.

Other stores in the area have been victimized by credit-card scammers, police said. More departments could join the investigation.
