Cops bust McHenry County drug house

Three McHenry County residents face a slew of charges after a months-long investigation during which, police say, two of the suspects were selling crack cocaine out of their father's Algonquin house.

The investigation began after police received information about a drug house on the 10300 block of Wilmette Avenue, authorities said.

Investigators observed Erin L. Carriveau, 24; her brother, Paul M. Carriveau, 20; and her boyfriend, Derrick J. Thomas, 24, selling crack at the house, where all three lived with Erin and Paul's father, according to the McHenry County Sheriff's Office.

When deputies arrested the trio Thursday, they found less than a gram of crack on Erin Carriveau and less than one gram of marijuana on Thomas, sheriff's police said. Police did not find any drugs in the house.

Erin Carriveau, Paul Carriveau and Thomas were charged with several counts of criminal drug conspiracy, unlawful delivery of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a controlled substance, all felonies. Thomas also was charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

All three were taken to the county jail. Erin Carriveau will have to post $10,000 to be released, Paul Carriveau will have to post $1,500 and Thomas must post $12,000. None had posted as of Friday afternoon.
