Balloon rides coming to Navy Pier
Visitors to Chicago's Navy Pier may soon have a new place from which to look around: A balloon.
A New York-based company called AeroBalloon is planning to set up shop at the popular tourist attraction as soon as later this year.
According to the company's Web site, the tethered balloon will float 35 stories up. Each ride will last 15 minutes and as many as 14 passengers -- all wearing harnesses to keep them from falling -- will be able to fit into the gondola.
The company says takeoffs and landings of the helium filled balloon will be controlled by a winch.
