FLW Outdoors hooks up in sponsorship dispute

FLW chief Irwin Jacobs may not be a happy litigant for the moment, and here's why:

Although it was described as having been pursued "reluctantly," FLW Outdoors has filed a lawsuit against BRP/Evinrude for failure to pay sponsorship fees for the 2009 FLW Outdoors tournament season. Jacobs reportedly said the actions came after Evinrude representatives and/or management participated in all FLW Outdoors' tournaments but failed to pay any of the 2009 sponsorship fees it agreed to cover, or any contingency dollars to Evinrude Pro Staff Anglers.

Minneapolis-based Jacobs is known for his sharp business acumen, especially in the boating industry as well as real estate holdings. This dispute was reported in the Fishing Wire.
