Smoking material blamed for fire death
STREATOR -- The careless use of smoking material is considered the cause of a fire that claimed the life of a Streator man over the weekend.
Sixty-seven year old Ronald M. Broyles was killed Sunday in a fire that destroyed his trailer home.
The State Fire Marshall's Office spokeswoman Januari Smith says the death of Broyles occurred in what is considered an accidental fire.
Volunteer firefighters battled the blaze and found Broyles' body inside once the fire was extinguished.
Coroner Jody Bernard says Broyles died from the heat of the fire.
