40-year-old man charged with groping women at Bartlett party

A Bartlett man accused of fondling two women during a weekend party was set free Monday after posting bond.

Derek R. Smith, 40, of the 1800 block of Vernon Lane, is facing two felony counts of criminal sexual abuse.

Authorities said Smith groped two 37-year-old female neighbors at a party around 1:15 a.m. Sunday inside their home.

Smith posted the required 10 percent of a $75,000 bond and was released pending a DuPage County court appearance next month in Wheaton.
